FAQs

  • All jewelry is made to order and may take up to three weeks to ship to you. This timeline allows me to ensure each piece is handbound with care. This is especially true for larger wholesale orders.

  • Absolutely! Each tiny book is meticulously crafted to include actual book pages, allowing you to flip through them and read snippets of the story within. It is a delightful feature that adds an extra layer of charm to these unique pieces. Please handle them gently to avoid damaging the delicate paper.

  • While these earrings are crafted with care and attention to durability, it is essential to handle them gently due to their delicate miniature design and ink-based dust jackets. Treat the earrings as you would their larger counterparts. With proper care, they are sturdy enough for everyday wear.

  • While these earrings have a water-resistant coating, they are not entirely waterproof and may be damaged if exposed to water for long periods. Just as you would not leave your favorite book out in the rain, please avoid exposing your earrings to water. Remove them before showering, swimming, or engaging in activities where they may come into contact with moisture.

  • Yes, I use stainless steel or gold-plated (available upon request) hooks to ensure they are comfortable for sensitive ears.

  • I love collaborating with readers and authors to create personalized pieces. I especially enjoy working with writers and publishing companies to celebrate a new book release. We can work together to create a tiny version of your dust jacket to celebrate a book launch.

If you own a bookstore or boutique and do not see a specific vintage book that represents your area in our catalog, we may be able to create it as an exclusive design for you. For example, the Monkey Wrench Gang by Edward Abbey can only be found at Back of Beyond bookstore in Moab, Utah. Please reach out if you have a specific story in mind.

  • I spend my time scouring library sales, thrift stores, and estate auctions for books that have been decommissioned or forgotten. I look for stories that deserve a second chance and volumes that have reached the end of their readable life in their original form.

  • A significant part of my collection features titles that have been banned or challenged in schools and libraries. By transforming these stories into jewelry, I hope to keep the conversation about intellectual freedom alive and ensure these voices remain heard.

  • Despite being made of actual paper, these miniature books are incredibly lightweight. Most people find them comfortable enough to wear all day without noticing they are there. They are much lighter than a standard metal earring of the same size.

  • I am always open to hearing about the stories you love. If you have a specific book that is falling apart and you would like to see it transformed, please reach out. While I cannot always work with every type of paper, I love the challenge of a special rescue mission.

  • I take great care in packaging your wearable library to ensure it arrives safely, but I know that the journey through the mail can be unpredictable. If your jewelry arrives damaged or if a mistake happened during transit, please let me know right away. I will make it right by sending a replacement so your story can begin on a better note.

Returns and Exchanges

If your earrings are not what you expected, please contact me within 14 days of delivery for a return or exchange. Items must be in their original, unworn condition. While I will refund the jewelry cost, return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.

I package every wearable library with care, but if your jewelry arrives damaged or if I have sent the wrong book by mistake, please reach out immediately. I will send a replacement at no additional cost to you.

The Lifetime Commitment

I want these books to stay with you for a long time. Because they are made of salvaged paper and hand-stitched thread, they are more delicate than metal jewelry. If a thread snaps through normal wear, or even if they meet with a significant accident like a trip through the washing machine, I will replace the book for you at no cost. You can find the full details on my Care Instructions page. I only ask that you cover the cost of shipping from the studio for these replacements.
